McClaren eyes signings after first friendly
Steve McClaren learnt 'a hell of a lot' in Friday's defeat by a Spurs XI The new Reds boss saw his side in action for the first time during their pre-season trip to Portugal and was encouraged by an improved second-half display during which Wes Morgan and Joe Garner struck. Attention now turns to new signings and McClaren told the official club website that he is hopeful of deals being done as early as Monday, saying 'we need to build this squad, to build this team.' Goalkeeper Lee Camp however may not be part of that squad as Premier League newcomers Swansea City continue their pursuit of his services.
