March Preview

The Reds play-off ambitions will be tested by five tough games in the month ahead

This Saturday sees a live TV date at Hillsborough as two improving sides go head-to-head. Sheffield Wednesday have been in excellent form since Christmas and their upturn has been much needed as the other teams at the foot of the table have also shown plenty of signs of life.

The Owls moved five points clear of the drop zone at the weekend as Leroy Lita continued his productive loan spell in S6 with the only goal of a tense game against Crystal Palace.

Two home games against Ipswich and Wolves follow. Ipswich edged further away from the relegation places with a hard-fought goalless draw at Huddersfield on Saturday but the freefall of the men from Molineux continued with defeat against Cardiff.

Dean Saunders has so far been unable to arrest the slide that took Wolves down from the Premier League last season and which continued under Stale Solbakken in the current campaign.

On paper, Forest's toughest test of the month comes with a trip to the KC Stadium to meet a Hull City side firmly in the automatic promotion hunt, although their ambitions were checked by a disastrous opening 10 minutes at Bolton on Saturday.

The international break provides respite before March ends with an attractive looking home game against fellow play-off candidates Brighton & Hove Albion.
