A host of new names have been mentioned in connection with the vacant Reds job

Since talks with Mick McCarthy broke down on Monday it has been open season for anyone and everyone to be linked with being Steve Cotterill's successor.

Glenn Hoddle remains the clear favourite, amid talk linking Gordon Strachan, Sven Goran Eriksson and Billy Davies, but there has been a number of stories linking Crawley Town's manager Sean O'Driscoll (formerly Cotterill's assistant) and their director of football Steve Coppell with roles at the City Ground, reports that have been firmly denied by the League One newboys.
