Much of the recent talk about potential new faces at the City Ground has been around whether a striker would be signed but Billy Davies has strengthened his squad on Thursday with Sunderland midfielder Vaughan, a reported target for a host of Championship clubs including Saturday's opponents Blackpool.
The 30-year-old does not appear to be in the plans of new Black Cats boss Gus Poyet and will be looking to impress with his new club.
