Forest gossip: Cunningham, Chinese consortiums & Davies for Leicester?

The Reds are being linked with Manchester City defender Greg Cunningham

The 20-year-old left-back is already a full Irish international but knows his chances of first team football with the Premier League leaders are severely limited.

Steve Cotteril confirmed at the weekend that he wanted to find a replacement for Clint Hill as soon as possible after his recall by QPR.

Cotterill's appointment meanwhile and that of Frank Clark as chairman is being blamed for the breakdown of a deal to buy the club, according to The Sun.

A Chinese consortium is said to have been close to a £20m buyout but felt the appointments would have restricted their own room for movement.

And, with Sven sacked by Leicester, Billy Davies is being tipped as the man to guide the faltering Foxes and their big-name squad into the Premier League.
