Forest defender Bennett returns

Nottingham Forest left-back Julian Bennett returned to action for the reserves on Tuesday after more than 14 months out with a knee injury.Bennett played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry City at the Forest academy. [LNB]The 25-year-old was part of a strong Reds side and came through unscathed, but he is still thought to be several weeks away from first-team action. [LNB]Bennett damaged ligaments against Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day 2008. [LNB]The defender joined the Reds from Walsall in January 2006. [LNB]He has started 99 games for the club and was the first-choice left-back at the time of the injury. [LNB]Forest have struggled to cope in Bennett's absence with Joel Lynch, Chris Cohen, James Perch and loan signing Nicky Shorey all used in that position this season.
