Davies is believed to be on the verge of capturing Bristol City striker Dele Adebola while bids are also on the table for Preston's Paul McKenna, Tottenham defender Chris Gunter and QPR forward Dexter Blackstock. But Davies knows he needs to get the players officially on board if his side are to challenge at the top of the Championship next season. "It's important we try and conclude one or two signings," he told Forest's official website. "The competition that's in this league next season, there's no doubt it's a massive challenge ahead for us again." The Scot has helped foster a good team spirit at the City Ground and believes his side can only prosper if he tops up that spirit with some new signings. He added: "People won't make it easy for us - we've got to earn that right. If we can do that and keep that tremendous spirit and crucially bring in a huge amount of signings, then I think we will be ready to make a good challenge."
