Forest boss hunts loan striker
Davies looked set to sign Marlon Harewood on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa but the forward instead joined Championship leaders Wolves.
But Forest will still be keen to bolster their front-line as they attempt to avoid relegation and Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "A certain type of striker is a priority and these kinds of strikers can be a big help in this division.
"We were hoping to get that kind of player in here that would help Robert Earnshaw, Joe Garner and Nathan Tyson."
