After a year at Derby where he struggled with his form, the Wales international moved to the City Ground and scored 17 goals to help Forest escape relegation and make him an instant hero. Earnshaw is now looking forward to the new season and told the Evening Post: "I would like to thank the fans because they have been brilliant. "We went round at the end of the last game and they showed the love they've got for me and I have that straight back for them." He added: "We need to work a lot harder, we have to be ready for the new season. Have a break now, enjoy it and then look to pre-season and build on this campaign. "We will have to see who comes in and then go from there and build because we deserve to be at least in mid-table, a lot higher than we finished."
