Davies has enjoyed successful spells in the Championship with Preston and Derby, guiding the latter to the Premier League. But despite enduring a difficult time in the top tier with the Rams, Davis believes the battle he currently faces at The City Ground is a different challenge altogether. "It's a whole new experience for myself and my staff but you learn a lot about yourself and the people round and about you," he told the club's official website. "I've told the players to enjoy it, although it's difficult to be in this position and it's much easier when you're fighting for promotion or fighting to get in the play-offs. "If we can get over this line then there's no doubt it will stand everyone in good stead for the future."
