Davies won't throw in towel

Billy Davies insists Nottingham Forest will continue to pursue second-placed West Brom until it is impossible for them to be overtaken. The Reds are now nine points behind their rivals following the 2-0 defeat at Championship leaders Newcastle. But the Scot is refusing to give up hope and has told his players they can still win automatic promotion. "West Brom are in pole position, but until it is mathematically impossible we carry on," said the Forest boss. "I don't even think Saturday is a must-win game for us. I think five wins could do it. I always knew it would come down to the last five or six games, I was saying that months ago. "This game was not going to be that significant. I hoped we could get something out of it, but we must still keep aiming high. We have to keep our belief, particularly away from home. If we aim to win five of six, we will see where that takes us."
