Davies to make use of int'l break

The Reds, who head into the two-week sabbatical on a run of three straight Championship victories, are not in action again until October 17 when league leaders Newcastle visit the City Ground. Davies has the likes of Lewis McGugan, Guy Moussi and Kelvin Wilson returning from injuries while players such as Paul Smith and Aaron Davies have only been used in the Carling Cup. "We have Chris Gunter away, Earnie (Robert Earnshaw) away and Raddy Majewski away, so we can't do any work on the back four," said Davies. "But we have arranged two friendly matches over the next two weeks - one against Chesterfield this Wednesday and one against Notts County the following Wednesday. "In those games we will play the likes of Lewis McGugan, Paul Smith, Guy Moussi and so on to give them the fitness they need. "That is what we can work on during the break, getting those players up to speed. We will try to use the time for a little rest for some players but also to give some players some fitness."
