Davies demands signings

Boss Billy Davies insists Nottingham Forest must shake up their squad with new signings. The Scot believes new faces would provide his squad with additional motivation and drive. Forest were beaten 2-1 after extra-time in the first round of the Carling Cup at Bradford on Tuesday night in a game in which they missed a host of chances, and Davies is convinced that new signings would provide a vital edge to his existing squad. "We need to shake up the pecking order by bringing players in," he said. "We need to make players react to new faces. New faces put people on their game; they change the ethos of the whole club. "We need more quality, we need more quantity and we certainly need more depth to get us through the rest of the season. "We are one step away from the Premier League, in Championship football, and great quality is required."
