Darren Ferguson parted company with Peterborough this week after guiding Posh to back-to-back promotions, and Davies himself was sacked after a difficult start to life in the Premier League with Derby in 2007.[LNB]The Scot feels that managers should have a clause in their contracts that secures them another year in the job once success has been achieved.[LNB]He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "When a manager gets a club promotion too early, that manager should be guaranteed his job is safe, no matter what happens. He should be guaranteed a season of Premier League football regardless of whether they go down."[LNB]Davies added that his current Forest side are not ready to make the step into the top flight.[LNB]"I can only talk through experience and my experience tells me we are not ready to compete in the Premier League yet," he said. "But this group of players have great potential and great quality. Some of them might excel at the next level."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
