Davies better for relegation battle

The Reds chief is convinced the experience of a relegation battle will benefit everyone at the club going into the next Championship campaign. Keeping a club out of the drop zone was a new experience for Davies, who had previously guided Derby to the Premier League and narrowly missed out on promotion via the play-offs with Preston on two occasions. "Having spent the last three or four seasons competing at the top end of the table, I have to say it was very difficult to come in and manage a club in this position. It was a big test," Davies told the Evening Post. "But it was a great experience. We have learned from it and we will be better for it in the future. "It is more enjoyable at the top end than the bottom, I will tell you that. It is a different skill, but you can only get through it by experiencing it."
