Middlesbrough are reportedly set to join Nottingham Forest in making a bid for Jamie Paterson

The 21-year-old winger, a star performer for Walsall last season, has been the subject of interest from the Championship throughout the summer.

The Reds bid for the Coventry-born player has been accepted but now they are set to face competition from the North East.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray is poised to make an offer and throw his hat into the ring for Paterson's services.
