The 33-year-old defender's four-year stay at the City Ground came to an end following the conclusion of the recent Championship season as he skippered the side in their home win over Southampton. And despite leaving with a heavy heart, the former Wigan man is confident better times are ahead for Forest following their narrow escape from relegation. "The club is very strong," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "It is on an upward curve and when I first joined we had a couple of years in the doldrums. "But what goes around comes around and I think this club will be going strong next season and well into the future. "This club is in good hands at the moment and they will be very strong next season. I don't see them struggling next time around. I think the manager will bring in some good new players and they will be a strong force next season."
