Rennie fails to settle Grant

Norwich City boss Peter Grant could be in hot water with the Football Association after his damning verdict of referee Uriah Rennie following the Canaries' weekend defeat by Southampton.

Robert Earnshaw fired City into an early lead but strikes by Gareth Bale and Kenwyne Jones handed Saints the points and left Grant fuming at Rennie's display.

"I thought the referee was awful for both teams," he said.

"It's scandalous the way he talks to the players with no respect and yet he expects respect back.

"If I spoke to kids like that I wouldn't get any respect, just like I wouldn't if I spoke to players like that. He'll say they swear and curse at him but that's rubbish.

"I'm all for showing respect to referees, they make mistakes just like we make mistakes, but with this ref it's all about him.

"People come to watch the players and to be entertained, not to watch the referee."
