Norwich V QPR at Carrow Road : Match Preview
Norwich will be without winger Elliott Bennett, who has a knee problem, for the Barclays Premier League clash against QPR at Carrow Road.
New signings Sebastien Bassong and Javier Garrido, who now has international clearance on his season-long loan from Lazio, are both in contention as manager Chris Hughton could make changes following the 5-0 drubbing at Fulham. Centre-half Steven Whittaker (ankle), midfielders Jacob Butterfield (knee) and David Fox (knee) and defender Elliott Ward (ankle) all continue their rehabilitation.
Hughton will try to use last weekend's d at Fulham isappointment as a positive springboard to kickstart their campaign. "You can definitely use this as a positive, use this type of defeat to galvanise and hit home to everybody that you need to play well enough to win games," said Hughton.
"Of course, I would rather have not lost so heavily, to be able to go into the QPR match having say drawn at Fulham or even won there, but you have to use every circumstance to your benefit. "The challenge now is just as difficult as I thought it would be two weeks ago - but it will be so for a group of teams.
"We can all be emotional about it, and it is not a nice period, but you bounce back from that." New signing Jose Bosingwa could make his QPR debut.
The 29-year-old former Chelsea right-back may be part of a reshuffled Hoops defence after last week's embarrassing 5-0 home defeat to Swansea. But Michael Dawson will not be in the frame after his proposed move from Tottenham stalled.
"At the moment it is not where I'd hoped it would be," manager Mark Hughes said.
"It may change.
"Obviously we've still got days left until the window closes so it might be revisited, but at the moment it is not in a place we think we can progress. "There was an issue with personal terms."
