Martin agrees Canaries loan

Norwich City have snapped up Peterborough United right-back Russell Martin on loan until the turn of the year.

The 23-year-old has dropped out of the first-team at London Road in recent weeks and has been handed the chance to link up with former Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert at Carrow Road.

Lambert told his club's official website: "I had him as a player at Wycombe and he did brilliantly for me there.

"When I was leaving Wycombe at the time he came to me and said he had the opportunity to join Peterborough, which he went on to do and again he has been brilliant for them.

"Captaining them to promotion shows he has resilience and that winning mentality which is what we have here.

"He is coming in to a vibrant squad and it is up to him now to stake his claim for a place in the team."
