Lambert resists Norwich title talk

Published: 14 Mar 2010 - 10:58:24

The Yorkshire club looked like maintaining the Football League's last remaining unbeaten home record when Neal Trotman headed them into an early lead. But substitute Stephen Elliott inspired a three-goal salvo in the final 21 minutes. Republic of Ireland international Elliott, who is on loan from Preston, scored twice after Grant Holt had levelled up the game. "It's not just about what the starting XI do," said Lambert, whose side equalled a club-record of 10 away victories in a season. "Everybody on the teamsheet has to be prepared to do their bit, and Stephen certainly did his bit with a terrific performance and two great goals." Norwich now hold a seven-point lead at the top of League One after nearest rivals Leeds were beaten at Southampton, but Lambert is refusing to get carried away. He added: "Nobody here is thinking about the title. Other people might look at the league table but we don't. The people at the club told me when I took over that I had to get the team to the play-offs. That was the only target."
