Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has released nine players - including Darren Huckerby - following the end of their Championship campaign.
The 32-year-old forward was expected to leave Carrow Road following the end of his contract and he has been joined on the list of departures by seven other members of the first-team squad.
Roeder has taken drastic action following the Canaries' battle to avoid relegation this season.
Rossi Jarvis, Ryan Jarvis, Bally Smart, Patrick Bexfield, Andrew Cave-Brown, Steven Arnold, Matthew Halliday and Juan Velasco have all been told they will not be offered new deals.
"I've made it pretty clear after Sunday's game and for several weeks now that I believe major work is required on the squad in the build-up to next season and beyond," Roeder told the club's official website.
"These decisions are part of that work.
"My sincere thanks and the thanks of everyone at the club go out to all of the players for their work for Norwich City."
Huckerby joined the Canaries from Manchester City in 2003 and made more than 200 appearances for the East Anglian club.
