Holt excited by Premier League challenge
Norwich captain Grant Holt is ready for some sleepless nights ahead of his debut season in the Barclays Premier League, but will not be having nightmares about facing some of the best defenders around. The 30-year-old striker collected his second successive player of the season award at Carrow Road on Saturday, before a trademark bullet header helped the Canaries earn a 2-2 draw against Coventry as they signed off from life in the npower Championship.Grant has now scored 53 goals in 92 games since signing from Shrewsbury in June 2009 and sees no reason why he should not make an impact when the new Premier League campaign kicks off in August - which will come just a couple of months after the expected birth of his third child."I can now relax a bit, and just wait for the sleepless nights again - but I may have a few of them anyway when I think of who we will be playing against next season," said Holt, who used to get up at 6am when he was working as a tyre-fitter and playing for non-League side Workington Reds. We know it is going to be tough, but we need to learn quickly that we deserve to be there on merit."Holt added: "People often compare me to Kevin Davies, because he works and harries, and if I can achieve anything like he has, then I will be happy. We will just do what we do best, and if I can score, I do, but if I don't and someone else does, then I am not bothered."
