Norwich City boss Peter Grant fears that top scorer Robert Earnshaw faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with the groin injury he suffered in training last week.
The Wales international missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle and is set to see a specialist.
"I'm preparing myself for the worst with the way he went down," Grant told the Canaries' official website.
"He wanted to do a bit extra and he's done his groin and obviously we're waiting to get that assessed over the next few days.
"We need to wait for that to settle down and then we'll see what the trouble is. Hopefully it won't be for a long time, but you never know."
Meanwhile, Celtic goalkeeper David Marshall and Bournemouth striker James Hayter are being linked with moves to Carrow Road.
