Cureton eyes loan departure

Norwich City striker Jamie Cureton is looking to leave Carrow Road on loan in a bid to kick-start a frustrating season.

Cureton, 33, has started just three Championship games for the Canaries and has held talks with manager Glenn Roeder over his future at the struggling club.

The veteran striker netted 14 times last season, but has not started a game under Roeder this term since August.

"It's probably been my most frustrating period in a long, long time. I've been sat around for what feels like ages," he said.

"Me and the manager spoke about maybe if it was right to go on loan possibly, though no clubs were mentioned.

"The gaffer's understood my feelings. He was happy to have me here, but if the right thing came up then we'd both look at it and go from there."
