Canaries snare loan keeper
02 Mar 2007 - 11:42:09
Norwich City have bolstered their thin goalkeeping options by signing Fulham's Tony Warner on loan until the end of the season.
Canaries boss Peter Grant was forced into the transfer market after seeing on-loan Celtic keeper David Marshall pick up an ankle ligament injury that ended his season in last month's FA Cup fifth round defeat at Chelsea.
Former number one Paul Gallacher returned to the starting line-up for Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Luton Town as Grant was forced to name teenage prospect Joe Lewis on the bench.
Warner, who has already spent time on loan with Championship strugglers Leeds United this term, will go straight into the squad to face Barnsley at the weekend.
The 31-year-old will become the fifth keeper to be used by Norwich this season after Gallacher, Marshall, Jamie Ashdown and Lee Camp.
