Canaries set to keep Lita
08 Dec 2008 - 14:45:51
Reading will allow Leroy Lita to extend his successful loan spell with Norwich City until the beginning of January.
The 23-year-old, who was outstanding in the Canaries' 2-0 derby win against Ipswich Town on Sunday, has scored six times in 12 starts for Glenn Roeder's side since arriving at Carrow Road in October.
Reading's director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website: "We've agreed to let Leroy stay at Norwich on loan for another few weeks until the beginning of January.
"He won't be eligible to play against us on Saturday but he'll be able to get a few more games under his belt."
Reading are likely to sell the former Bristol City striker in January as his contract is due to expire at the end of this season, and Hammond added: "Leroy's loan has gone very well.
"He's put in some great performances and he was excellent in their victory against Ipswich.
"It's in everyone's interests to have Leroy fit, up to speed and playing regularly so that if ever we need him he is ready to go straight back in, which is great news."
