Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton has set a £2million price tag on star striker Billy Sharp as Norwich City lead the chase for the player's signature.
The 21-year-old's goals helped the Iron clinch promotion to the Championship, and Wharton admits Sharp is a player in demand.
"I can confirm that Norwich are one of four or five clubs showing an interest in Billy," he said.
"Obviously I cannot go into any details while discussions are ongoing.
"Billy has been made aware of the interest. Clubs looking at Billy know the asking price is £2million, plus various other things being built into the package to make it substantially more.
"But I am desperately hoping Billy will stay with us and lead us into the Championship. We have offered him the best new contract that we can."
