Canaries land Marshall
04 Jul 2007 - 16:43:33
Norwich City boss Peter Grant is pleased to have brought a high-quality goalkeeper to the club after agreeing a deal to sign Celtic shot-stopper David Marshall on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old moves to Carrow Road for an undisclosed sum after enjoying a successful loan spell with the club last term.
Grant, who used five goalkeepers last term - Marshall, Paul Gallacher, Jamie Ashdown, Lee Camp and Tony Warner, told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to be bringing a goalkeeper of David's calibre to the club.
"The club has to take a lot from the fact it made such an impression on David from the first time he was here.
"There have been a lot of discussions between Celtic and ourselves, and at one stage we didn't think it was going to happen. But we're delighted David is now part of the club.
"He has a big tradition of goalkeepers at Norwich City to follow and the competitive edge we have in this position will push David to the maximum.
"It's another position we've filled and hopefully we have a quality addition in a position which can earn you 10 or 15 points a season."
