Canaries confirm Cort blow

Norwich City have ruled striker Carl Cort out for the rest of the season following foot surgery.

The 31-year-old has been sidelined since the 2-0 defeat at Blackpool almost three weeks ago and has now undergone an operation.

Cort's contract expires at the end of the season and the striker may now have played his last game for the Canaries.

"It looks likely now that we won't have him for the remaining games after his operation and the recovery period after that," admitted manager Bryan Gunn.

"His commitment and his bravery we have to commend because he put his body on the line for the club and the more characters we have like that in the squad the better.

"Hopefully for Carl the operation will be a success and it will give him the opportunity to regain his fitness as soon as possible."
