Canaries close to signings

Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder has reassured supporters that he is close to completing a number of deals to sign new players.

Roeder has added just two players - Wes Hoolahan and Sammy Clingan - to his small squad this summer, but expects his transfer business to run right up until the new season kicks-off next month.

He said: "I think it will be a busy couple of days.

"Some of the transfers that will happen in the next week or so have been ongoing for five or six weeks.

"It's been very slow going I have to say. It's quite ridiculous really, but that's the nature of the business now.

"It will continue right up till the week before the season starts for us at Coventry."
