    Canaries clinch promotion

    Norwich City secured automatic promotion back to the Championship with a 1-0 victory at Charlton Athletic, with Michael Nelson scoring the only goal of the game at The Valley.

    Gillingham held on for a nervous 3-2 win over Leeds United at Priestfield.

    The home side had gone 3-0 up thanks to goals by Adam Miller, Mark Bentley and an own goal by Richard Naylor, but Leeds came back through Luciano Becchio and Jermaine Beckford to make for a tense finale.

    Charlie Austin salvaged a point for Swindon Town after Steve Jones had given Walsall a 1-0 lead just before half-time at the County Ground.

    Ten-man Southampton beat Yeovil thanks to an injury-time winner from Lee Barnard.

    Saints were reduced to ten men when Morgan Schneiderlin was sent off with 20 minutes to go, but they still secured all three points thanks to Barnard's late header.

    Goals from Lewis Guy and Dale Stephens helped Oldham to a 2-1 win over Carlisle with Gary Madine scoring the consolation for the home side. All the goals came in 14 minutes of second-half action.

    Hartlepool came from a goal down to beat Colchester 3-1. Ian Henderson put the visitors ahead after just eight minutes, but James Brown and Roy O'Donovan gave Pools the lead at half time.

    O'Donovan then wrapped up the points from the penalty spot with five minutes left.

    Ryan Jarvis and Eric Lichaj both scored second-half goals to secure a 2-0 win for Leyton Orient over Stockport County.

    Kevin Betsy netted an injury-time winner to give Wycombe a valuable away win over MK Dons. Braces from Alex Revell and Aaron Wilbraham looked to have left the game in deadlock. but Betsy struck late on to secure all three points for the visitors.

    Ashley Barnes scored the only goal of the game to give Brighton a 1-0 win over Southend.

    Tranmere beat ten-man Exeter 3-1 thanks to goals from Craig Curran, Joss Labadie and Gareth Edds.

    James Dunne was shown a red card for two bookable offences for the visitors and despite a goal from Stuart Fleetwood they came away with nothing from the game.

    The game between Bristol Rovers and Brentford ended in stalemate.
