Canaries' striker bid rejected
22 Jun 2007 - 10:29:08
Norwich City have been knocked back in their efforts to sign Southend United striker Freddy Eastwood.
The Canaries have had a £1.5million offer for the 23-year-old marksman rejected by the Essex club, who claim their prize asset is 'worth a lot more'.
Norwich are looking to pair Eastwood with Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp in a new-look strikeforce next season.
They have already been given permission to discuss personal terms with Sharp after agreeing a £2million fee with the Iron.
"Norwich have made a bid for Freddy, but I have told them that they are not offering enough," Southend chairman Ron Martin told the Evening Echo .
"Freddy is worth a lot more to this football club than £1.5million. That is what I've told Norwich and I still don't want him to leave."
