Bowen out of Norwich frame

Manchester City assistant Mark Bowen has ruled himself out of the running for the managerial vacancy at Norwich City.

Bowen had been one of the favourites to replace the sacked Glenn Roeder after a nine-year spell as a player at Carrow Road.

"I'm very flattered but I'm in a unique and fantastic position at Manchester City," said the former Wales international.

"I consider Norwich to be my club. I spent the majority of my career there - nine years - and had fantastic and happy times there.

"My three children were all born in Norwich and the club and the area has a special place in my heart.

"But it will be a very hard to leave Manchester City at the moment with what's happening here."

Meanwhile, the Canaries have recalled striker Jamie Cureton from his loan spell at Barnsley.
