Bertrand poised for City stay

Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has confirmed that Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand is set to extend his loan stay at Carrow Road.

The 19-year-old, who has made 20 appearances for the Canaries so far this season, will remain with the club until the end of the campaign.

Roeder said: "We were just waiting as there were some questions regarding Chelsea regestering Ryan for the Champions League but that's now been resolved.

"I'm really pleased because we simply couldn't afford to buy a player of his quality, and that's one less headache for us to consider in January."
