US woe for Whitbread
Zak Whitbread has been denied the chance of a full international debut after being forced to withdraw from the USA squad due to a back problem.
The 27-year-old defender sustained the injury in Norwich's 1-1 draw at Hull on Saturday and will play no part in either of the USA's forthcoming friendlies against Argentina and Paraguay.
Whitbread had been included in the senior squad for the first time after making five appearances for his country's Under-20 side.
