Premier League outfit Norwich City completed the signing of Cameroon defender Sebastien Bassong from Tottenham on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday.

Bassong, who was born in France but played for Cameroon at the 2010 World Cup, has previously worked under Norwich manager Chris Hughton at Newcastle.

Bassong wrote on his Twitter feed: "I've been officially transferred to Norwich today. 3 years deal. another chapter in my football life.

"I wish all the best to my old team mate at Spurs. I've had great time with them. I hope they'll success."

His signing, which follows that of Spanish defender Javier Garrido on loan from Lazio last week, comes as a welcome boost to the Canaries, who were beaten 5-0 at Fulham on the opening day of the Premier League season.
