Canaries wait on Bennett

Defender Ryan Bennett faces a fitness test on a thigh injury to determine whether he can feature for Norwich against Manchester City.

Former Everton defender Joseph Yobo could make his debut at Carrow Road after signing on loan from Fenerbahce.

Wes Hoolahan may make a first appearance since New Year's Day after being re-integrated into the squad following his transfer request being rejected.

The Canaries were thrashed 7-0 loss at the Etihad Stadium in November in a performance boss Chris Hughton described as his side's worst of the season.

Norwich responded to the humiliation by winning three of the five games that followed, but have one win in 11 matches in all competitions since beating West Brom on December 7.

Hughton thought his side deserved to win at Cardiff last weekend, but former Norwich goalkeeper David Marshall was in supreme form in the Bluebirds' 2-1 win.

Hughton is concerned more with building on the Cardiff display than reflecting back to the City loss.

He said: "We were hurting and we were hurting for a while from that game (the City loss).

"We did respond and we responded in a good way. We know what can happen if you have a really bad day against that kind of quality.

"Our level of performance in the last game was good, (but) it didn't get us the result we wanted.

"We have to make sure our performance lends more to the performance that we had against Chelsea at home, Manchester United at home, than the disappointment we had away in Manchester."

City boss Manuel Pellegrini expects a different game from that November goal-fest.

"It's a very difficult game, it is very important the way the team reacts after the defeat at home," said Pellegrini, whose efforts in January have earned him a second successive manager of the month award.

"We play against a good team in Norwich, a team that tries to play, so we hope that we can win again.

"It will be absolutely different. They will want revenge for what happened here in Etihad.

"They have a good team that play good football, it is very important for us to continue playing the same way we are doing away because the last four games we won all of them."

City are again without key midfielder Fernandinho (muscle strain) , top scorer Sergio Aguero (hamstring) and playmaker Samir Nasri (knee).

Midfielder Javi Garcia (muscle strain) is another absentee this weekend, but James Milner (groin) is fit again, while striker Edin Dzeko (ankle) and defender Joleon Lescott (ankle) have overcome minor knocks.
