Martin stars in Canaries cup romp

Martin took his tally for the season to nine as the League One side made light work of their Zamaretto South & West opponents. Two goals from strike partner Grant Holt and a stunning strike from Wes Hoolahan completed the scoring as Paul Lambert's men avoided the potential banana skin with ease.[LNB]The non-league minnows had Norwich rattled early on and twice went close in the opening 10 minutes, first through James Tyrell's delicate lob and Robbie Claridge's double effort from the resulting corner.[LNB]But Norwich quickly silenced the home crowd when Holt popped up at the back post to expertly head Korey Smith's cross down and past Kyle Phillips in the home net after 15 minutes. It was two nine minutes later when Hoolahan slipped Martin through and the 20-year-old calmly fired a left-footed strike into the corner.[LNB]Paulton wasted a golden opportunity to pull one back five minutes later when Claridge fired over after a poor clearance by goalkeeper Declan Rudd and Holt compounded the miss three minutes later with an unmarked header to make it 3-0.[LNB]Rovers should have hit back 13 minutes after the break but centre-back Ollie Price's back-post header was straight at Rudd. The impressive Hoolahan scored the goal of the game with a left-footed curler with 16 minutes remaining. But then Martin took centre stage notching three times in the last 13 minutes - the pick a curling free-kick from the edge of the box which flew into the bottom corner - as the Canaries reached the second round in style.[LNB][LNB]
