Maric on target in City success

The Serbian striker, who netted the only goal against St Johnstone on Thursday, struck again but was replaced before half-time with a leg injury. Wes Hoolahan had given the Canaries the lead in the 13th minute, heading home from close range, but the Scottish Second Division side levelled 10 minutes later when Scott McClaughlin converted a penalty after Declan Rudd fouled a trialist. However, Maric nodded home Matt Gill's cross in the 33rd minute and Danish defender Jens Berthel Askou, another hoping to earn a deal with City, grabbed a third four minutes before the break. A trialist pulled a goal back for the home side with 16 minutes left but the Canaries held on to maintain their 100% record from five pre-season games.
