Lappin targets start

Norwich manager Paul Lambert has no new injury worries to contend with for the trip to Preston. Anthony McNamee was rewarded for his second-half display in the come-from-behind home win over Barnsley last Saturday with his first start of the season in the defeat at Doncaster on Tuesday. It remains to be seen whether Lambert sticks with the same starting line-up or opts to tinker which could mean a place in the line-up for Simon Lappin. Michael Nelson (ankle) and Andrew Surman (knee) are long-term absentees while defenders Steven Smith (ankle) and Zak Whitbread (calf) are training with the first team but lack full match fitness. The Canaries will face former midfielder Darel Russell for the first time since his summer exit from Carrow Road.
