Lambert unimpressed by Oliver show

Norwich manager Paul Lambert launched a scathing attack on "pathetic" referee Michael Oliver after he sent-off Canaries captain Grant Holt in the 3-3 npower Championship draw at Reading. Holt had scored as City built up a 3-1 first-half lead but was dismissed in the 45th minute for a challenge on Ian Harte. The Royals fought back after the break to claim a point in a terrific match but Lambert was fuming with the overall performance of the 25-year-old official. Lambert - who was also sent to the stands late on - confirmed he would appeal against the decision and insisted his side's travelling support had been let down by the referee. He said: "It is a nigh on pathetic decision. I've seen it about 19 times and it's never a red card. We played brilliantly and Holt was on fire. He caused no end of problems and to send him off was incredible. "We would have scored again and we would win the game. That was pathetic. We will appeal as he would get a three-game ban and miss the derby with Ipswich."
