Wes Hoolahan took advantage of a defensive slip to score the only goal of the game and extend Norwich's run to four straight wins. Hoolahan took advantage of an error by veteran midfielder Graham Kavanagh to slot the ball home from eight yards and end the Cumbrians' own four-game unbeaten run. Lambert said: "We were a club without a manager early in the season and all the uncertainty, so it's great to give the fans something back. "We were excellent. I'm delighted with the performance. Carlisle are a good side and it's a hard place to win. "You don't win anything in October but we have raised the spirits of the club."
