Lambert playing for keeps

Norwich manager Paul Lambert praised his goalkeepers following the goalless draw at Stevenage. John Ruddy, who joined the Canaries from Everton this summer, produced a string of fine saves including from Scott Laird's second-half penalty. Substitute goalkeeper Jed Steer also impressed when called into action, reacting quickly to keep out an effort from Charlie Griffin. "The two of them were great, John made a great save with the penalty and young Jed has come on and been great," Lambert told the club's official website. On the overall performance, Lambert added: "Some of the football we played was great and we are only three games in. "The lads have worked really hard over the last fortnight since we've been back in so I can't ask for any more."
