Lambert lauds incredible crowd

One of the highest attendances recorded at this stage of the competition saw Chris Martin's well-taken 30th-minute goal settle a keenly-contested tie. Martin fired home off the post from just outside the area having earlier missed a much easier chance after latching on to an under-hit back pass from Kevin O'Connor. Lambert said: "I thought the attendance was incredible - for so many people to turn up and support us on a wet night was fantastic. I said when I first came here that the club had a truly excellent fan base and there was further proof of that. "It was a terrific goal just after he had missed a much easier chance. But he didn't go into his shell and he was brave enough to go looking for another chance and he took it really well. "He's come in and done really well as has Darel Russell who hasn't played for I don't know how long and has put in a really good performance. "Overall it was a good night for us. It's another win and another clean sheet and should help build confidence in the squad."
