Top scorer Grant Holt scored a brace and young midfielder Korey Smith grabbed the third as City ended a 57-year wait for an away win at Roots Hall.[LNB]Lambert said: "You have to earn the right to win games and Southend are a tough nut to crack especially at home.[LNB]"You need to knock at the door a few times but in the end you get the first goal and that's what happened.[LNB]"It was nice to finally beat Southend away and the lads deserve credit for what they are achieving.[LNB]"Holt has been colossal since I have been here.
