Jason Scotland saw his first-half goal cancelled out by Alan Lee's header moments later, but the Trinidad & Tobago international took his season's tally to 23 with a second-half penalty. Norwich manager Gunn said: "We put in a spirited performance. "We set ourselves up to stifle them and we did that for long periods. "We shot ourselves in the foot just minutes after the break. It was bad defending. The ball came in too easily and he was too crafty. It's been the story of our season. "We have to believe. We are back in the bottom three and have to get out of it. We now hope other teams fail and don't get maximum points. "It's a concern we are in the bottom three after clawing ourselves out of it. We have to dig deep and find the resolve we've shown in the past. "We are not down and out yet. Nobody has thrown the towel in here and we have to regroup now." An open game saw play-off chasing Swansea come flying out of the blocks and captain Garry Monk was denied his first goal of the season when his shot rattled against the crossbar. Former Ipswich striker Lee fired inches wide in the 26th minute and was made to pay moments later when Scotland rifled home a fine strike from 25 yards. The home side's joy was shortlived when Ryan Bertrand's cross saw Lee outjump Ashley Williams to plant his looping header beyond Dorus de Vries in the 33rd minute. Scotland was kept out as Norwich goalkeeper David Marshall pushed his low drive around the post seconds after the break. But he would not be denied when he struck home a 50th-minute penalty. Scotland picked himself up after he had been tripped by Gary Doherty to send Marshall the wrong way. Norwich searched for an equaliser but the closest they came was when Darrell Russell crashed a shot into the side-netting and Lee missed the target with a header. Swansea boss Roberto Martinez believes his side can still force their way into the play-off picture. He said: "It's about winning at this stage of the season. We got back to the high standards this season. "I still believe we can do it but I don't expect to get into the top six unless we get 73 points. After that we will see where it takes us. "I think it could even come down to goal difference but I think we need all the points open to us. Many things could happen to the top six yet."
