Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Blackpool left City three points adrift of safety with just nine games remaining, but Gunn is confident of survival.
He said: "We've got to cope with the pressure and I will do as much as I can to get the players prepared mentally.
"Physicality doesn't come into it because the players have played three-
quarters of the season.
"We are down to the nitty-gritty now so we need to make sure everyone is focused on the job."
