Gill seals Posh return

Matthew Gill has returned to the club where his career began after signing a one-month loan deal with Peterborough. The 29-year-old made 167 appearances for the London Road club between 1997 and 2004, before moving onto Notts County, Exeter and then Norwich in 2009. However, Gill has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Canaries and has been allowed to join Gary Johnson's side, where he is expected to make his second debut against MK Dons on Saturday. "I've known Matthew Gill since he was a kid; he used to play in the same East Anglian youth teams as my son Lee and I've kept an eye on his career since then," Johnson told the Norwich Evening News. "He will get on the ball, have one or two touches and pass it on. He also likes a tackle so he's the sort of player I think we need at the moment. "He hasn't played much first team football lately, but he's been a regular on the bench for Norwich and he's a fit lad anyway. He will play on Saturday. I haven't bought him not to play him."
