Fear factor fires up Lambert

Norwich boss Paul Lambert has revealed he is driven by the fear of getting axed. That is despite guiding the team to promotion in his first season in charge and winning more of his first 50 games in charge than any Canaries manager in over half a century. But he will not rest on his laurels and last season's League One manager of the year told the Evening News: "I just take it one game at a time. I always think you are one game away from the sack. Yes, the fear factor drives you on, that's just me as a person with the fear factor. "The one thing we have done is give it a feeling that if people are going to beat us then they are going to have to earn it. That is the group of lads I have got - they give me everything in their body and deserve every bit of praise that is coming their way. "Every time we have lost in my time at the football club we have never lost another one back to back. We have always drawn or won, but they are the ones that do it, the players are the most important thing at the club, along with the people that come and watch it. It's not rocket science. "The fans have been beaten pillar to post in the last few years and with the relegation but I have to try to keep everybody's feet on the ground. We are only a handful of games into the season, a long, long season, really, really tough with some really good sides in it - but we have done fine."
